Aletta Davis-Pitre, PT
Aletta, an Amarillo native, graduated with a degree in physical therapy from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2003. Aletta's desire to become a physical therapist began during her sophomore at Amarillo High School. During her junior year in high school, she was one of several students selected within AISD to observe a healthcare profession of her choice for one day at a local hospital. Of course, she signed up to observe PT; though there was a slight mix-up as she was placed with an OB/GYN! Although Aletta thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience with the OB/GYN, it didn't deter her from her plans of studying to become a PT. As always, everything happens for a reason. During her third year of undergraduate studies, she learned of the perinatal, postpartum, and pelvic floor rehab specialties, and immediately realized her specific passion within PT; the day spent with the OB/GYN gave her a good foundation as she began to specialize in this aspect of care.
She was fortunate to begin her work of specializing in pelvic floor physical therapy even prior to graduation, in a time when this specialty was not typically part of the curriculum, and has focused her skills since on addressing the pelvic needs of men, women, and children. Aletta is passionate about helping those affected by changes in the pelvic floor muscles and pelvis in general improve the quality of their lives and return to normal activities. She's also enjoyed sharing her passion as an adjunct professor since 2011 with her Alma Mater, Texas Tech, as well as serving as guest lecturer for other institutions, in the hopes of bridging the gap in pelvic health and awareness.

As she progressed through the curriculum, Rachel came to recognize the importance of pelvic floor rehabilitation and the impact dysfunction has on day-to-day life. She continued her education with a focus in pelvic floor rehabilitation through the American Physical Therapy Association Section on Pelvic Health. Rachel is extremely passionate about health and fitness, and often competes in body building competitions. Here at Optimal Physical Therapy, under the supervision and guidance of Aletta, Callie furthered her specialization during a clinical rotation internship.
